Aikido Sa Kuru

History

Aikido Sa Kuru was born when fate brought together a number of Yudensha at the visit to the United Kingdom of the present Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba.  A seminar followed in Cornwall and the a deep respect and friendship became bonded.  The head instructor Barry Gibson 5th Dan working along-side John Shields 5th Dan were long term students of Master Shigeho Tanaka 9th Dan and Pat Stratford 8th Dan.  Their dojos in the North are situated in Derby and work with other linked associations in the North.  Masatatsu Aikido based in the South West of England is ran by Andy Watkinson 2nd Dan and Dan Hopkins 2nd Dan.  Their back ground being that of traditional Aikikai styled Aikido, having been tutored by Guillermo Perez 5th Dan of the Spanish Aikikai.  Aikido Sa Kuru continues to grow and work towards uniting the dojos who have been fortunate to have studied under Master Tanaka 9th Dan.
