History

Shobu Aikido U.K. is an association of like-minded Aikido dojo founded in June 2004 by its Chief Instructor George Forbes Sensei (7th Dan) who has been practicing Aikido for over 50 years. George has studied in Japan, Belgium, France, Spain and the U.S.A. on a regular basis with many different Sensei but his passion is Aikido as was taught by Nobuyoshi Tamura Shihan (8th Dan) and Pierre Chassang Shihan (8th Dan). Style

Shobu Aikido U.K. practises a traditional style based on the foundations of Aikido given by Nobuyoshi Tamura Shihan, whilst emphasising Aikido as a practical and effective method of conflict resolution. It also seeks to promote Aikido as a discipline of mind, body and spirit. These teachings practised inside and outside the dojo lead to martial wisdom - Shobu Aikido
