Clubmark

The BAB is delighted to be offering Sport England's Clubmark accreditation scheme.

To find BAB Clubmark clubs look for the Clubmark Logo Logo  alongside their details.

Clubmark is a cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. According to research in 2004, three fifths (60.5%) of young people belong to a sports club outside school. It is vital that these clubs serve young people well. The Clubmark scheme recognises clubs which have a commitment to:

  • Ensuring the well-being of young people whilst in the care of adults, other than their legal parent(s)/carer(s).
  • Enthusing young people to enjoy sport and active recreation to build a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Enabling young people to use their leisure time creatively.
  • Allowing young people to optimise their talents and personal ability.
  • Identifying and supporting the development of the most talented young people.

To find out more about the award you can visit http://www.clubmark.org.uk

The BAB's Clubmark Officer is Terence Bayliss, and you can email him at.

The documents needed for the Clubmark Scheme are listed below, and can be downloaded for your use. However, to 'officially start' working towards accreditation you need to register (by email) with Terry who can then explain the process in more detail.

We hope that all BAB clubs offering training to under 18s will wish to pursue Clubmark accreditation. The framework for assessing accreditation portfolios is improving all the time – and we hope to be working with County Sports Partnerships across the UK in due course.
