• Shihan Simms has been studying aikido for nearly 40 years and is in regular
contact with the leading instructors of aikido takemusukai in Japan
• Aikido takemusukai was established by Suzuki Toshinobu sensei, a head shinto
priest and one of the very few students ranked 10th Dan by O Sensei Ueshiba. He
opened his own dojo, with O sensei`s prior approval, in 1970, a year after O
sensei`s death. This operated under the supervision of the Aiki-Kai until 1975
when he was authorised to establish a separate Takemusu Aikido headquarters.
