Hi,
Allow me to introduce myself - I am a student at the University of Central Lancashire.
I have recently been set a brief by Umbro where I must look at another sport (I have chosen Aikido), and I must transfer my knowledge and understanding of the clothing and equipment used in this sport - to improve Umbro's football range
(e.g. the placement of seams, the size of laces etc etc).

Basically, I would like all users to please note down
a. What they wear whilst training/competing.
b. How they wear this

For example, do you roll sleeves up etc.
Please be as descriptive as possible - this is all SUCH important research,
and you may even find this fun.

P.s are there any pieces of equipment used in Aikido - I am at the very very early stages of research and am yet to find any?

Thank you x
Catherine Wilkinson

Hi Catherine

I would suggest that your first way to find out information is to visit a local Aikido Club, Use the BAB Club Finder System to find 1 or 2 that are close to you and visit them, Also you could contact one of the Martial Art Supplier like Nine Circles that could also give you some insight. For Example when wearing a standard Judo Gi many people roll up the sleeves but you can also buy an Aikido Gi that has shorter arms.

I think you need to be much clearer in the information that you are asking for before we can give you clear answers.
