Hi Everyone
just to let You know that as from Feb 2010 the 1st Dan Grading syllabus for Tomiki students will be changed.
Section C from the dai san ( TANTO SECTION ) Will be removed from the requirements.
And replaced by hikitategeiko Randori.( Whatever that is ?) instead.
 
Please feel free to enlighten me as I am not at all sure why this has been done.
Thank You for Your time in these matters.

What Tomiki association syllabus are you talking about BAA, ADS, JAA as there is more than one Tomiki used within the UK.
Hikitategeiko is free style practice with resistance . Tanto Hikitakegeiko enables Tori to practice  combinations, uke can also practice kaeshi waza variations of the atemi section. Toshu Hikitategeiko allows the use of kaeshi waza using any applications and variations by both aikidoka.

Hi Danny P

Shaun cleared up your question, But where did you get your information from and what association do you think it applies too. At the moment the ADS has no intentions to change our current Dan grade syllabus.
