Hello everyone,
I Recently became interested in aikido and I would like to start to practise and learn more. However I have being looking for over 4 weeks where to go and all I have found so far is classes here and there but not proper schools. Could any one please tell me if they exist in this country? I currently live in Peterborough but soon will move to Milton Keynes. Many thanks.

When you get to London go to the westend and ask for Yoshi. Not far from Oxford circus :)

Hi
Well most people will say that their school is the best - otherwise they wouldn't be training there!
If you are going to be in MK, there are a few around - I train in Northampton and our classes are on Weds and Friday nights. I think our website is playing up at the moment but if you want any more information please ask - www.nptonksk.co.uk.
We are very friendly and train with people at their own level. Although we are within the KSK, we have a wide range of styles within the club, lots of Aikikai, some Yoshinkan, and some much less "hard".
You are always welcome to visit, watch and speak with members beforehand, or you can get straight on the mats.
Let me know if you want to visit.
Jamie

Will someone take pity on us poor deprived souls in Peterborough I started Aikido about 2 years ago and loved it but the Peterborough club shut down shortly after I started and I have been unable to find an alternative venue in the locality. I would love to travel to Northampton but it is over 50 miles from my home and I could not afford the fuel.My Gi is hanging forlornly in the wardrobe and begs to be used. |

I know it seems there aren't any classes around the Peterborough area!
Perhaps try Cambs? there are quite a few different associations and classes you might be able to visit.
Yoshi - if you want people to come to your school, you need to tell them the name and where it is! Otherwise they won't come!
